Morning everyone,

If you use Newton Road, Hamstead Hill, College Road or Forge Lane, you'll want to check next week's roadworks before heading out.

Here's your quick Great Barr update.

🚧 Traffic & Travel

This weekend:

Hamstead Hill (B42): Openreach multi-way temporary signals throughout Sunday June 14 for utility repairs. Expect delays through the village.

Newton Road (A4041): Lane closure towards West Bromwich and the M5 on Sunday for utility maintenance. Temporary pedestrian diversions also active.

Next week — plan ahead:

College Road (Kingstanding end): Daytime lane closure Monday June 15 near the Kingstanding/Hawthorn Road roundabout for street lighting repairs.

College Road (Perry Barr end): Second lane closure Wednesday June 17 near the Perry Park junction for street furniture repairs.

Forge Lane: National Grid closure near the crematorium expected to clear by Wednesday.

👉 Newton Road and College Road are the routes most likely to slow down school runs and morning commutes next week.
