Next week:

  • Kingstanding Road (Monday 14–Tuesday 15 September, 8am–5pm): Severn Trent lane closure outside Goodway Nursery School and Melverley Grove

  • College Road (Thursday 17–Friday 18 September): Road works for markings near Crossway Lane, Fairford Road and Epwell Road

  • Birmingham Road (Friday 18 September, 9:30am–3pm): Lane closure for central reservation resurfacing opposite Merrions Close and Beacon Way

  • Walsall Road (Monday 21–Tuesday 22 September): Road works for markings outside Scott Arms McDonald's from Regina Drive to Cliveden Avenue

Sandwell Local Plan — Deadline Today: If you want to have your say on housing and land use in Sandwell until 2044, the consultation closes at 5pm today. Submit via the Sandwell Council website.

Community Grants: Voluntary and community organisations have until 20 September to apply for Cultural and Creative Investment Grants of £2,000–£5,000 for local arts and heritage spaces.

Crisis Payments: The council's Crisis Payment scheme supports low-income households facing unexpected financial emergencies. Contact Sandwell Council for details.

Heritage Open Days (Friday 11–Sunday 20 September): Free events across the region including guided tours of Oak House Museum, heritage exhibitions at Wednesbury Museum and rare cellar tours of Haden Old Hall.

Birmingham Heritage Week (Friday 11–Sunday 20 September): Exclusive building tours and heritage walks exploring Digbeth and the Jewellery Quarter.

Sri Lankan Buffet (Saturday 12 September): West Bromwich Indoor Market — Curry Box's all-you-can-eat Sri Lankan buffet on the High Street.
